I need help from you experts and teachers

Hi everyone! I’m new here and I’m really glad I found this message board!
I need all the good advices that you experts and piano teachers can give me. I read a few threads here (like memorizing…) But if I could get all you can give me at one place it would be nice. Here’s what I would like to know: What are the best ways to progress continually in my learning process? What are the best ways to practice daily
EFFICIENTLY
? What do you, piano teachers, tell your students to do between their lessons? I want to maximize the efficiency of my work time on the piano. Here’s my situation: I’ve been playing for a while, but only by ear( I could not read music at all). I Play piano at my church . 1 ½ year ago, I decided to learn about everything I didn’t know (sight reading, theory etc) and found a teacher. She’s a good teacher, but somehow I don’t progress the way I’d like. That’s why I’m asking for a little outside help. What could I do to really improve my sight reading for instance…how long should I practice everyday, what should I practice everyday or regularly (aside from the work my teacher gives me…scales, chords…?) What do you suggest. What’s the best way to learn a piece of music? It takes time I know but if you don’t do it properly and don’t have the good methods, I guess it’s like wasting your time. What I’d like to know is what are the tips end advices other piano teachers give to their students that might benefit me. Also, after 1 ½ year, what should normally an adult student be able to play? Can you give some examples Thanks a lot (sorry for my English, I know it’s not perfect…
) Can you help me to improve faster on the piano…I know there are a lot of question in my post, but I’d appreciate it if you could provide some help. Didn’t know where to put this topic so I placed it in two different sections.
Sebastien

Of course this is not all. It barely scratches the very tip of the iceberg
. But I guess it is a start…
Best wishes,
Bernhard.

Writing a book (as you may have noticed
) is not really a problem. Convincing a publisehr to publish it and give me cartloads of money in the process is the real roadblock
Best wishes,
Bernhard.

I am not Bernhard
but I can answer to your question:
Login first. May be it will work then.
If it does not, you have just to change the word "display" by "print" at the adress bar.
then you will access to a text version of the link.

Yes! I am logged in and
No! I don't even come to the page you are talking about ( the one that you change display to print- I know cause I've done it before!)
When I click on the link it just simply takes me back to the Piano Board.

What exactly do you mean by digital edition? Whatever form, if bernhard wrote a book it would surely be amazing and I'd definitely buy it.

If possible, add to this great compilation video samples to demonstrate some great and important explanations, that are difficult to dispose in words and understanding, ex.:
http://www.pianostreet.com/smf/index.php/topic,7226.msg72166.html#msg72166
"Now look carefully at this position because here lies the key to everything. Your thumb should be in the air nail up, pad down, in line with the 3rd finger which is sideways resting on the E key. If you now rotate back the hand to the left (palm goes down) and do a minimal shift to the side (it is so minimal that you may not even need to do it) this rotation will bring your thumb right on the F with it never needing to be brought under the hand."
Bernhard, thank you for sharing your knowledge, that helps us mastering passages in difficult works.
Thanks!!! When you come back to Brazil, please let me know ok!?
Excuses for my poor English.

A wiki? You might have seen
http://www.wikipedia.org
, which is probably the most famous wiki. wiki's are mainly for collaborative creation of a web site, but you can configure them to have specific editors.
[It'd be ideal for this site to take many of the older posts and get some folk to edit them into a wiki / faq type format]
But if I were you I write a synopsis and chapter headings and ring a publisher
Wild and wacky innovation to show technique? Video and photos have been done, and Chang [and probably you too] don't see much point as it doesn't help much. C Chang said on usenet, it's basically a problem of limited angles, invisible movements and/
